Pour optimiser et contr\u00f4ler son processus ainsi que sa cha\u00eene d&#8217;approvisionnement, Vulcan a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de brevet\u00e9 son sorbant VULSORB\u00ae.         Le principal constituant de ces adsorbants est l&#8217;aluminate de chlorure de lithium. Ces types d&#8217;adsorbants fonctionnent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement de mani\u00e8re optimale \u00e0 des temp\u00e9ratures plus \u00e9lev\u00e9es. Dans certaines op\u00e9rations commerciales dans le monde, du gaz est utilis\u00e9 pour chauffer la saumure avant l&#8217;extraction du lithium.
