Vulcan Energy Resources Limited was founded in 2018, with the goal to develop the world’s first lithium company with net zero carbon footprint. The Company was conceptualised and founded in Australia, with the core of its first phases of project development focused on Europe. The Upper Rhine Valley, being Europe’s largest lithium resource with a high quality geothermal resource in the same reservoir, turned out to be the most suitable location for Vulcan’s Zero Carbon Lithium™ Project.

Vulcan’s lithium division, consisting of world-leading experts in lithium chemistry, Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE), and chemical engineering, aims to decarbonise lithium production through developing the world’s first net zero carbon lithium business, with the co-production of renewable geothermal energy on a mass scale. Vulcan’s lithium division consists of the production team and the piloting teams, backed up by the scientific excellence of Vulcan Labs.

Natürlich Insheim GmbH

With the acquisition of Pfalzwerke geofuture GmbH, Vulcan has had an operating, revenue-generating geothermal power plant since January 2022. This plant operates under the name Natürlich Insheim GmbH. The current technical capacity is a maximum of 4.8 MW of renewable electricity with the additional option of generating heat.

The planning and consulting company for deep geothermal projects from Baden-Württemberg is part of Vulcan and was founded in 2005. The team consists of highly qualified scientists with over 100 years’ worth of combined expertise, putting them at the forefront of the global industry.

Founded in 2007, Vulcan’s engineering team is focused on the above-ground part of deep geothermal and energy projects and is characterised by expertise in power and heat plants, drilling platforms, and permitting. This team sets itself apart with their knowledge of electricity and heat installations, drilling platforms and permits.

Vulcan has established a powerful and experienced team with the drilling company VERCANA. VERCANA has two electric drill rigs that will be operated by an experienced in-house drilling team under this newly formed company.
