- ein umfassendes Verständnis der Reservoir Eigenschaften zur Optimierung der Reservoirentwicklung und zur Bewertung und Kontrolle der Reservoirproduktivität für ein tiefgreifendes Verständnis der Wechselwirkungen zwischen Reservoir und Betrieb zur Eindämmung von Risiken
- ie effiziente Erzeugung und Bereitstellung von grundlastfähiger Wärme und Strom
- für die effiziente Produktion von Thermalsole mit einem minimalen CO2-Fußabdruck.

Optimising Resource Assessment and Site Development
Our innovation projects aim to optimise our assessment technologies to find the best access points to the resource. By enhancing our site development processes, i.e., drilling and drilling waste removal, we will minimise our environmental impact and ensure groundwater and biodiversity protection.
One project strengthens our assessment technologies to optimise geothermal resource assessment by using data based de-risking methods and decision making. Expected key results:
- Reducing risks of seismicity and mitigating environmental impact by reliable subsurface characterisation based on comprehensive key geological data sets
- Cost effective yet reliable designs for strategy solution
- Foster public acceptance towards geothermal production using more elaborate insights underpinned by enhanced data quality
Steigerung der Energieproduktion und Kontrolle der Thermalsole
Geothermische Energie wird bereits seit der römischen Antike genutzt. Um jedoch das gesamte Potenzial der hydrothermischen Tiefengeothermie für die grundlastfähige Energieproduktion zu nutzen, braucht es ein umfassendes Verständnis der Prozesse im Untergrund, die der Transport des Schlüsselmediums – der Thermalsole – aus dem Reservoir mit sich bringt. Diese Prozesse müssen kontrolliert werden. Geothermische Sole ist eine stark salzhaltige Flüssigkeit, die mit Gasen angereichert ist. Der Umgang mit einer solchen Ressource bei hoher Temperatur und hohem Druck erfordert Die Prozesse müssen entsprechend gestaltet und optimiert werden:
- die Maximierung der thermischen Energiegewinnung aus dem geothermischen Fluid und der Kraftwerksverfügbarkeit
- die Minimierung von Abfällen und der Verluste bei der Stromgewinnung
- Außerdem ermöglicht uns eine größere Flexibilität unserer geothermischen Produktion, auf saisonal bedingt wechselnde Bedarfe zu reagieren.
Lithium- Resource efficient Extraction
We are aiming to produce the world’s first carbon neutral lithium. To achieve this, we developed our own sorbent VULSORB® and we are establishing an environmentally friendly production process for this sorbent material with
- High lithium recovery/high sorbent capacity/high selectivity towards lithium
- Long lifetime
- Recyclable starting materials
